Sonia and Braidy - Progressive Pilates

Bio

Sonia:

Outside of our studio, Sonia likes to keep active, whether that be walking, running or helping at her kids’ homes with renovating and gardening. An extra special time is getting away with a group of friends on a catered tramp and enjoying new parts of our country, great company, amazing food and much laughter. Sonia loves to travel, there are many places still on her wish-list to visit, Portugal would be right at the top.  All times with her partner, family and friends are treasured.

Braidy:

Is a self confessed homebody so in her spare time she likes to do jobs around the house & have a wine with her close friends and family. Braidy loves eating, so getting out to a nice restaurant or having big family meals is a special treat for her.

Experience

Sonia has STOTT PILATES Level 2 Full Certification and a Diploma in Nutrition from Otago University

Sonia’s career in the fitness industry began in 1984 with Les Mills.  She started Progressive Pilates in 2001 and changed her focus and direction in the health and fitness industry.  Sonia’s passion has always been movement and teaching.

As she aged, Sonia felt the drive to find a program she could teach that improved flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, in turn providing herself and clients with increased physical and mental wellbeing.

Pilates for Braidy began from a very early age, having grown up with her Mum (Sonia) teaching nearly her whole life. Throughout the years Braidy did the odd Pilates class with her Mum (though she never listened). It was only in early 2018 that she started to develop her passion for it. Braidy has now been teaching full time for 2 years & has never looked back. In this time she has become a fully trained STOTT Pilates instructor. Braidy loves connecting with clients on a daily basis and watching them grow stronger both physically and mentally.
